About Me
For some time now, I have been thinking about the next steps in regards to my role in District 25. I have been a dedicated and active member of the Federation for 18 years. I was first encouraged to get involved by many TBU leaders at the start of my career. I have never looked back!
I come from a union family. My father was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) at Ottawa Hydro. I also have a close connection to those with developmental disabilities (member of OCAPDD) as my sister, Erin, is Developmentally Delayed and is a proud graduate of Clifford Bowey school. Her struggles and victories (and those of my parents and their daily advocacy for her) lead me to spend a good portion of my career to being an advocate for those with special needs. Erin's life has lead me down the path that I follow to this very day.
I began my daily teaching duties in the OCDSB in 2000 - 2001 as a social science teacher and changed to being a guidance counselor and Department Head Student Services at Osgoode Township High School in the beautiful and rural town of Metcalfe, Ontario where I also reside.
